Tomorrow

Tomorrow, the sun will rise again,
But it won’t feel the same.
A shadow will stretch across the dawn,
A reminder of your name.
Tomorrow, I’ll speak your name aloud,
But my voice will crack, unsure.
The weight of what we never knew,
Pain too deep to comprehend.
Tomorrow, I’ll listen to the music you once did,
But it will echo your absence.
Every note will remind me
Of the brother I lost in silence.
Tomorrow, I’ll write of you again,
But the words will never fit.
The space you left, so deep, so raw,
An abyss I wish I could admit.
Tomorrow, I’ll feel the weight of it all,
Empty smiles line the hall.
The joy we once had, now shattered,
As the world around me feels a little more tattered.
Tomorrow, I’ll face the world once more,
But I wish I could go back to the good ol’ days.
For the tomorrow I was supposed to have with you,
I bid you goodbye, way too soon.

I love you forever big brother,
Shyla
