Dear brother,
I had a weird memory that suddenly popped up yesterday. I think you were like 8, and obsessed with angry birds. When our uncle was unwell, I remember us playing it on the iPad. Clearly it persisted, so you had an angry birds birthday party.
Do you remember us going to Hong Kong, and purchasing enough counterfeit stuff toys for every kid who came to your party to go home with one? I know we definitely bought the red main one, I think the yellow triangular one, the black bomb bird and the tiny blue one too. I think we must’ve bought some pigs as well.
You were always so good at games. I can’t think of a single one where I ever did better than you. Even that stupid fish game we used to play on Mum’s phone? One of us nailed it and one of us did not. I used to think you’d be a good surgeon because of your propensity for video games.
I don’t think I have any memories before you. I don’t remember anything from the three years, 4 months and 23 days before you arrived. I wish I didn’t have anything to remember after you left. I should only have memories from a world with you in it.
It gave me a mild panic attack the other day. That I was running out of memories. And then the angry bird thing, and your affinity for random video games like Poptropica popped into my head and I felt better. I vaguely remember you telling my old flatmate that you once ranked globally on Fortnite.
Please keep popping things into my head. It makes me panic when I think I’m running low on memories about you.
Love,
Acca
