Dear Josh,
I’ve been writing my posts in advance, so they aren’t aligned with the actual days I’ve been in London. Sorry about that!
I have been thoroughly enjoying London so far! Your mum and sister have taken me to sooo many places and we are walking at least 20k steps daily. I’m so thankful and see the effort they’ve put in to make this trip fun for me.
We talk about you a lot which is really nice. It makes me wonder what I’d be doing differently if you were here. For one, I don’t think we’d be making 20k steps a day. Not because you can’t, but because you wouldn’t want to. Your mum and sister have shared that vacationing with you meant that intervals of rest and hotel time were mandatory. You knew my traveling style and that it meant little time in hotel rooms. We’d definitely have a disagreement on this, and I think we would have ended up walking less or ending the days earlier. I think you’d still try your best to stay out and about for the whole day, but it would tire you out very quickly. I hope you’re moving around with us now that it’s easier for you.
I also wondered what you’d think about our shopping. To be fair, I don’t think I’ve spent that much. I did buy a bag today but it was the price of a top in the shop I purchased it from, and it’s so far the only “big” purchase I’ve made. Everything else I’ve been quite careful with spending. I’ve also not used any of my parents’ money! It is painful to use mine, but I’d also feel bad if I used theirs. Your mum and sister have been so nice though, always trying to pay for my things. I know it isn’t the same, but I try to cover some light meals and items for them too. I think you would like the relationship we have.
One of the most exciting part of our day (for me) was the Sigmund Freud Museum!! We didn’t like the guy, but we had to admit that he contributed a lot to psychology even if it meant through others disagreeing with his work. I don’t agree with a lot of his theories, but I will admit he is quite impressive. His house was so interesting and I’m thankful your mum and sister were equally as excited. Your sister bought me a Freud T-Shirt (we’re matching; she got one too!) as part of my graduation gift and later a Daunt Books tote bag too. How sweet! I think you would have liked that.
Oh, we also got a Five Guys milkshake, and I got bacon bits in mine though I don’t like it because it’s what you like. Hope you’re having the best milkshakes up there. Can’t wait to see you again. I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, and I’ll miss you more than you can imagine.
Love always,
Sha
